I cant believe its over...
December 28, 2007 by Kimberley
Christmas that is. (What were you thinking this was about?? huh??)
I feel like it went by so fast. We went up to JR's Mom's over the weekend through the beginning of the week. We spent most of Christmas Eve afternoon at his Dad's place. We did a late lunch and opened gifts. The kids had a lot of fun running around with Pappy and Grandma Maureen. Brandon was a little disappointed that his step-cousin Kaylynn wasnt there, but he was alright. He got to run around with the dog and play with the tricycle by himself. Lunch was great! Maureen makes very good Fetticini Alfredo. Yum!
We headed back to Mom's house around 7pm. And surprisingly enough were able to get the kids tucked into bed by 9:30pm. Keira actually crashed around 7:30pm, but it took a bit longer to get Brandon to settle down. He was VERY excited about Santa coming. =)
We all waited about an hour or so to make sure he was truly asleep before bringing out all the presents. Then we started setting everything up around the tree.
(Amazingly enough JR and I were able to get gifts for everyone on our list. Its so important to us that we were able to do that. Personally, I really dont care about how much I get. I just want everyone I love to know that we care about them. =)
JR and I had made an agreement not to get each other anything, and use that money on everyone else. It worked out okay. But I broke the rule a bit more than he did. I gave him a Pirates of the Carribean Scene It game, a few games and movies, and a Pirates calendar. Bad girl, but I couldnt resist. Id had a little left over and HAD to spend it on him.)
So after we'd had it all set up we looked everything over and were just amazed by how many presents there were. Mind you there were 9 of us at the house. So that turned into an avalanche of presents. I took pictures and I'll post those soon.
We all finally sacked out around 2am.
Fawn got Brandon up super early, like 7am. Scared me to death though because I woke up with a start and realized he wasnt there. I thought something was wrong, like he'd rolled out of bed or gotten up because he didnt feel well. (He's been sick since Friday.) But it was just Fawn getting him up. We let Keira sleep a bit while the rest of us congregated around the tree. It was a tight squeeze, but it worked out.
The kids made out like bandits. So spoiled! They got a lot of great presents. I cant even list them all. We came home yesterday afternoon and we're STILL trying to sort everything out.
I've got today off and the rest of the weekend, them Im back to work on Monday. I think Im going to start pulling the Christmas decorations this weekend. I usually wait until after New Years, but I just dont see how Im going to find the time. When I get back to work, Im going to be so busy! Besides, I think both JR and I are eager to have our living room back to normal. LOL!
All in all, its been a good vacation. =)
Happy Holidays to everyone!!
